AI help on the shop floor

AKILI can do the typing for you: read a parts invoice, read an odometer, write up a dictated note, and suggest labor hours. Every one of these fills in a draft you edit — nothing is saved until you save it, and nothing is sent to a customer until you send it.

Scan a parts invoice

1. Open the repair order and expand the job the parts belong to.
2. Tap Scan parts and photograph the supplier invoice, the counter receipt, or the part's box label. Get the part numbers and prices in frame.
3. You get one row per part it read. Untick anything that isn't for this job, fix whatever is wrong, then tap Add to the job.

The prices you see on the photo are your cost. Your markup matrix prices the lines when they're added, exactly as if you had typed them in yourself.

Scan an odometer

Tap the speedometer icon next to the mileage field — on the repair order or on the vehicle — and photograph the instrument cluster straight on, with the display lit. The number lands in the field, still editable.

If the reading is lower than the mileage on file, AKILI says so. Odometers don't run backwards: it's a misread, or it caught the trip meter. Check before you save.

Dictate the three C's

On a job, tap Dictate note, say what you found, then tap Stop. Your phone transcribes the words — the audio never leaves the device — and AKILI writes the note up as concern, cause and correction.

It uses only what you said. If you didn't state a cause, the Cause field stays empty: that's correct, not a failure. Fill it in yourself if you know it.

Suggest labor hours

In a labor line, tap Suggest hours. AKILI answers from your own history first: once you have billed three or more jobs by that name, you get your shop's average and the number of jobs behind it. That costs nothing and reflects your bays and your people.

With less history than that, it's an AI estimate and says so. Check it against your labor guide before you quote it — the hours are your margin.

Always check AI-drafted values

These tools read photos and words. They don't know your parts, your customers or your cars, and they are occasionally confidently wrong: a smudged 8 read as a 3, a trip meter mistaken for an odometer, a part number off by a character.

You are the one who signs the estimate. Read the numbers before they reach a customer — especially costs, mileage and hours.

What it costs

Each scan, dictated note or AI estimate uses one AI credit. An hours suggestion drawn from your own history uses none. When your credits run out AKILI says so and every field goes back to being typed by hand — nothing stops working.
